Tequila Spiced BBQ meatballs
One of our family's favourites using the 44th Street Angus Beef Meatball Trio. I first tried the BBQ meatballs and I added some ingredients to spice it up as I like it hot.
I am a fiery chef so the additional heat will warm your body on a chilly night.
Ingredients:
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 medium onion sliced
1 tbsp of olive oil
1 package of BBQ meatballs from the 44th street TRIO (thawed)
1 cup of hot BBQ sauce, anyone you like
2 tbsp tequila
1 tsp of cayenne pepper
salt
pepper
Directions:
1. On a medium heat (cooking it in the hob) using a large pan, heat the olive oil
2. Add the garlic cloves, once browned, add the onion and continue stirring until caramelized
3. Add the thawed BBQ meatballs together with the sauce, leave to cook for 5 minutes.
4. Add 1 cup of BBQ sauce and stir until the meatballs are covered, leave to cook for another 10 minutes
5, Season with salt and pepper.
6. Add the tequila and stir only once
7. Serve while warm with rice, couscous, bread or salad on the side.
